About Precurio Intranet Portal Software...

Precurio is a complete intranet solution designed for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). It is an open source intranet platform that combines a comprehensive package of collaborative and social networking tools with robust reporting, workflow and enterprise content management.

The idea was conceived in 2007 as a response to the difficulty involved in setting up off-the-shelf intranet software and also how almost impossible it is, to customize these products to the needs of an organization. Precurio was therefore developed to be a sort of middle ground to intranet managers torn between developing an in-house intranet portal, and purchasing an off-the-shelf intranet solution.

Precurio, originally built on the flash platform, was in 2009 redeveloped to a lighter Ajax based version after much feedback from customers. This new Ajax based version, while still retaining the attractiveness and ease of use of its predecessor, also facilitated easy extensibility and personalisation, which inevitably led to Precurio being open source in 2010.

Today, over 2500 organizations have downloaded Precurio and are enjoying a stable, functional and usable intranet software portal.
